Moustaches, are wonderful things.
Many famous men (and some women) from history have owed their notoriety to their unmistakable moustaches, I wanted to join the ranks of these prestigious moustaches and decided to grown my own. After growing a full beard I shaved it ... I hadn't notice until then that my facial hair was all white.
But I noticed that beards and moustaches give you a disctintive look, moustaches have a strange, powerful effect on people.

1 | Clean and Scrub
Like the hair on your head, your mustache also needs regular cleansing. Daily grime and food can build up, leaving an unpleasant odour. Use your regular facial wash to cleanse your mustache (and or facial hair).
Some will suffer with dry skin beneath facial hair and ingrown hairs - the solution is a facial scrub once or twice a week to scrub away dry skin and prevent ingrown hair.

Don't take my word for it, here's some interesting trivia about just how awesome moustaches are:
-
The longest known moustache is 12.5, by a man in India, Badamsinh Juwansinh Gurjar, claims he hasn't cut his moustache in over 22 years.
-
Scientific research, commissioned by the Guinness Brewing Company, found that the average mustachioed Guinness drinker traps a pint and a half of beer in their mustaches every year.
-
On average a man with a mustache touches it 760 time in a 24 hr day.
-
The oldest artifact portraying a mustache was from 300.BC of a Scythian horseman. They were thought to be the first people to wear moustaches.
-
Burt Reynolds is widely considered the world's 'Manliest Man' (c.1972), in no small part to his full moustache.
-
Men with moustaches are better lovers... Ok, I made that one up.
Trivia aside, moustaches have defined great men and their identity for centuries: Dali, Einstein, Hulk Hogan...and now, me!

2 | Shave and Trim
There are plenty of mustache styles to choose from, some more complicated than others - either way, maintaining your chosen design will require some precision equipment. Use a dedicated beard trimmer to carefully sculpt your moustache. For stray and long hairs, carefully snip away with some manicure scissors and use a transparent gel when shaving around your mustache, it’s easier to see where to/ and not to shave.
3 | Condition and Hydrate
Facial hair tends to draw moisture from the skin, resulting in dry flaky patches beneath and within your moustache. Hydrating this area with a regular moisturiser can prove tricky, becoming ‘tangled’ within hair and not easily absorbed. A dedicated mustache and beard hydrator is the solution.

5 | Wax and Shape
You may opt to wear a complicated mustache style, or one more straight forward - either way I would advise to invest in some moustache wax, my favorite is Brooklyn Grooming products. Their grooming products will hold your twizzled ends in place and ensure your mustache stays neat and styled. Similar to the hair on your head, mustache hair can become unruly if not tamed.
4 | Comb and Style
Free your mustache of debris and dry skin with a mustache comb. It will also ensure your facial hair is kept neat and tidy.
